Weston Youth Services provides a range of programs and services to promote the health and well-being of our children and families, including:
after-school and summer activities for children
parenting workshops & discussion groups
social-educational events for families
resource referral services
collaborate with the Weston Public Schools and other local youth-serving agencies to create programs to enhance children’s physical, social, and educational development.
collaborate with the Department of Social Services to assist families in financial need and minimize the impact on children’s social and academic activities.
Youth Services Director
Laura Cleary, LMSWhas worked as a social worker in Connecticut communities for over 10 years, in areas of positive youth development, substance abuse prevention, parent education, and community coalitions. Most recently, she has worked with Sandy Hook Promise, presenting violence prevention programs to middle and high school students.As Director of Weston Youth Services, Laura looks forward to getting to know the Weston community and supporting efforts to promote the well-being of Weston youth and families.
Charlene Monn has lived in Weston for 20+ years. She was first involved with youth when she taught “Game Gallery” beginning in 1994. She continued teaching until 2008, when she became the Program Coordinator for Weston Youth Services. Primarily, she oversees the WOW! After-school programs and summer camps. This is a perfect job for her, as she loves working with children and families. Charlene and her husband Steve are the parents of two sons, both of whom attended Weston schools. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, walking, and spending time with friends.
Youth Services is located in the Weston Town Hall Annex, 24 School Road next to the Board of Education.
